What agents can do

Check availability

"What does my schedule look like tomorrow?"

"Am I free next Tuesday between 2pm and 5pm?"

"Find the next three open 30-minute slots this week"

Book meetings

"Schedule a 30-minute call with John for next Monday at 10am"

"Book a meeting with the Acme team -- find a time that works for everyone"

Manage events

"Cancel my 3pm meeting today"

"Move my Friday standup to 10am"

"Add a note to tomorrow's meeting: 'Bring Q4 report'"

Set out-of-office

"Block off next Friday as out-of-office"

"Set up out-of-office for the week of December 20th"

Voice agent integration

Calendar is especially powerful when combined with Voice Agents. When a caller asks to schedule a meeting, the voice agent can:

  1. Check your real-time availability
  2. Suggest open time slots
  3. Book the meeting on the spot
  4. Send a calendar invite to both parties

Use cases

  • Meeting scheduling -- Let agents or callers book time without back-and-forth
  • Availability-based routing -- Only schedule outbound calls when you are free
  • Meeting prep -- Trigger a research workflow before each meeting on your calendar
  • Schedule optimization -- Get recommendations for rearranging your day

Tips

  • Connect your primary calendar so agents see your complete availability
  • Set working hours in Google Calendar so agents only book within your preferred times
  • Combine with contacts -- "Schedule a meeting with John Smith" works when John is in your contact database with an email
  • Use with voice agents -- Calendar is one of the most useful tools for phone-based scheduling
